For most of his 50-year teaching career, Bob Taylor, MS ’59, PhD ’63, started his class the same way, by passing out a short quiz.In small classrooms and large lecture halls, he taught more than 40,000 College of Agriculture students dating to 1962.
Taylor retired from Purdue’s Department of Agricultural Economics in May at the end of the spring semester.
Taylor has received outstanding teaching awards from the university (1980), the college (1970, 1976) and the Purdue student body (1970), and he was named to Purdue’s Book of Great Teachers in 1999.
Taylor will be profiled in the next issue of Purdue Agriculture Connections. It won’t go to press until the end of July, but you can enjoy a sneak peek into the career of a Boilermaker legend with this video tribute.
