 Throckmorton-Purdue Agricultural Center (TPAC)

Switchgrass harvest at TPAC

Throckmorton-Purdue Agricultural Center (TPAC) is located five miles south of Lafayette Indiana in Tippecanoe County and includes over 830 managed acres.

The rolling silt loam soils found at the original TPAC farm are used primarily for agronomic and soil erosion research. In the late 1990s, horticultural and specialty crop research was relocated from the old Horticultural and O'Neall Memorial Farms to the Meigs Farm, which is part of TPAC.

At the Meigs Farm, both drip and overhead irrigation have been developed and the site has been extensively tiled for optimum drainage. Fruit tree and vine, and bramble research has also been relocated to the Meigs Farm.
