Opportunities for You

Opportunities for You
You can take classes at any college, but few can match the opportunities and sense of community that Purdue Botany and Plant Pathology offers you.

Research Projects
There are a variety of specific research projects that involve working with graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, and faculty.  Students who assist in research are frequently co-authors for professional publications - an accomplishment that employers will notice.  Sometimes student research projects lead to special scholarships or internships.  You will also earn course credits with BTNY 49800 (Research in Plant Science) and BTNY 49900 (Thesis Research) which is part of the Honors Program.

International Studies
Most of our students take advantage of the opportunity to study abroad for a summer or semester.  We live in an increasingly global marketplace, and employers prize international experience.  Learn more...

Part-Time Jobs
Many of our students work part-time with faculty performing field or laboratory research.  These aren't just jobs, they're learning experiences that help you develop professional skills.  We are happy to help you find work.
