FIELD CROPS 

With over 657 square miles of land in Allen County, Indiana, there is an abundance and rich variety of agriculture production available.  The average size of farm in Allen County is 154 acres.  In 2008, there were 1,649 farms that were producing on 254,136 acres of land.

Corn, soybeans, wheat and hay are the primary crops produced in Allen County.  In 2008, there were 10,979,000 bushels of corn; 40,001,000 bushels of soybeans; and 1,486,00 bushels of wheat produced.  The market value of those crops was $89,661,000.  In addition, livestock sales accounted for $27,854,000.
