4-H Clover Picture4-H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

4-H offers hundreds of different ways to learn and do new things. 4-H is the nation’s largest youth service organization. It helps young people develop and improve life skills such as self-confidence, leadership, citizenship and communications. Why should youth join 4-H? Through 4-H, you are exposed to fun and challenges that bring about education in numerous areas. With 4-H, you can: Have fun, make friends and go places!

4-H is a program that gives young people an advantage.  It gives them the chance to learn new skills and build self-confidence.  Students as young as Pre-K through high school participate in a variety of projects, which are subject areas that they are most interested in.  They are encouraged to belong to a group or club.  The program is delivered in a variety of levels and methods.   Activities and other events challenge students to become more aware of their community and become active leaders.

4-H is a Federal program that is offered through the land-grant university system and the Cooperative Extension Service.
