If you are interested in attending the 2013 Indiana 4-H Youth and Adult Congress, please con-tact the Extension Office or email Jeff at email@example.com. You must register by No-vember 1st.
I want everyone in the 4-H Community to have a voice, so I am offering two surveys on our Decatur County Extension website: http://www3.ag.purdue.edu/counties/decatur/pages/default.aspx. Please look under HOT TOPICS to find them. One survey will be for everyone involved in 4-H and the other is for the Adult Volunteers.
These surveys are short and simple, but they will benefit everyone involved so that we can make Decatur County 4-H better each and every year. This is your opportunity to express any ideas or concerns about the Decatur County 4-H program.
ATTENTION 4-H VOLUNTEERS!!!
As a 4-H Volunteer, it is an expectation that you will participate in orientation and training pro-vided by Purdue University/Decatur County Extension. I want all of you to be a part of the planning process, so please give me your ideas on what types of training we need for Decatur County. You can do this by filling out the Volunteer survey on the Decatur County Extension website, calling me at 663-8388, or by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
NORTH CENTRAL REGIONAL VOLUNTEER E-FORUM
Your 4-H leadership journey is never over, and the 2013-2014 North Central Regional Volunteer e-Forum will bring you to four new stops along the way this fall and winter. The NCRV e-Forum is a great opportunity to join other 4-H volunteers at four educational destinations, learn from 4-H Youth Development professionals around the region, ask questions and engage in dialogue about 4-H hot topics. Each flight will crewed by a group of Youth Development spe-cialists from the University of Illinois, Purdue University, University of Missouri, University of Minnesota, University of Wisconsin, North Dakota State University, Kansas State University, Michigan State University, The Ohio State University and University of Nebraska.
On November 18th, 2013, learn about increasing positive parental support of 4-H programs. Or, hop on the December 3rd, 2013 flight that will land on strategies to keep teens and older youth engaged in 4-H programs. Make sure the January 14th, 2014 trip to using technology to improve the 4-H experience of youth and adults is on your itinerary. And lastly, explore the new land of bringing science into 4-H projects on February 3rd, 2014.
Volunteers are invited to tune into each session of the 2013-2014 NCRV e-Forum with local 4-H staff and other adult leaders. Sessions will be held at the Decatur County Extension Office from 8:00-9:30 PM. The NCRV e-Forum is a chance to watch presentations live, send questions to the experts and participate in discussions with adult leaders from around the region.
For more information on the North Central Regional Volunteer e-Forum, contact Jeff at 812-663-8388 or email@example.com.
Decatur County 4-H is partnering with the Decatur County YMCA to offer an opportunity for 4-H members to participate in Lego Robotics! If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please call the Extension Office or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. The hope is that we can offer a Robotics project for Decatur County 4-H and start a Robotics Club that will eventually participate in the Indiana State Fair Robotics Challenge. I am also looking for any volunteers who have a background or interest in this new project. The sooner you let me know of your interest, the sooner we can get started!!!
We have an Activity Kit that 4-H Leaders may check out to use for your 4-H Club meetings. There are many activities from team building and mixers to just for fun games. Stop by the Extension Office to check out the book and supplies.
Please let us know if you are no longer planning on being a leader so we have everything up to date. This helps us know which clubs are still active.
Adult Behavioral Expectation Forms will be coming out in the next few weeks. These must be signed each year to continue to be a leader.
