June 2013WELCOME - JEFF HERMESCH, 4-H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
The Extension Office is very please to have Jeff Hermesch join our staff. Jeff is the new 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator. The name might sound familiar to you; Jeff was a teacher at South Decatur previously. If you are in the office take a moment to introduce yourself.
HELP! HELP! HELP! Yes, Help is needed for the fair. Please contact Eileen to find out how you can help! Enclosed in this newsletter is an example of scorecards that will be used this year. If you know of a group wanting to be a team for the pie eating contest, have them contact Marilyn Davis. If you have an interest in helping at the State Fair contact Atina.
If your club is interested in obtaining the lessons that were given at the Leader Lesson Day, please contact the office. Although there were only ‘two’ lessons, each lesson has multiple parts.
HOMEMAKER OF THE YEAR
Now is a good time to start thinking of who you might want to nominate for Homemaker of the Year. Nominees will be due in August.
FALL DISTRICT MEETING
The Fall District Meeting will be held on August 22nd in Jackson County at Camp Pyoca (see Atina for Directions). Registration is from 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM. Cost is $12. Please send your reservations to Paulette Duerstock by August 1st.
FIRST BOOKS FOR KIDS - THANK YOU
Thank you to those of you who have expressed interest in helping out with this program. I believe we have a coordinator lined up for the program and will be sharing more about what to expect in later newsletters. We can still use volunteers, so if you have not called the office to express your interest please do so. Thanks!
