Are you counting down the days until school is out? We have an excellent opportunity for you to attend and have a whole lot of fun. This opportunity is the 2013 4-H Camp at Shakamak State Park in Jasonville, Indiana to be held June 16-18, 2013. 4-H’ers that are currently 3rd thru 6th grade are eligible for 4-H Camp.
We will share the camping experience with Fountain, Benton and Montgomery Counties. 4-H Camp allows 4-H’ers to make new friends and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. If you like to spend time with friends and have a lot fun, 4-H Camp is for you.
Examples of some activities available at camp are crafts, recreation, camp fires, a cookout, boating, dancing, nature and a lot of fun. Oh, we almost forgot the most favorite activity of the summer, swimming!
To be eligible for camp, please fill out a registration form. Please mail the form or bring it to the Hendricks County Extension Office (1900 East Main Street, P.O. Box 7, Danville, Indiana 46122) plus the $70.00 Camp Fee (payable to the Hendricks County 4-H Youth Council), by May 20, 2013.
T-Shirts – If you want a 4-H Camp T-shirt this year, you must request one on the 4-H Camp Registration form. There won’t be any available to purchase at camp. If you would like a 4-H Camp T-shirt, mark the $7.00 optional blank on the registration form.
While at camp, approximately twenty campers will be staying in a cabin with one adult counselor and junior counselors. Campers can become “Bunk House Buddies”. Please indicate on the enclosed registration form the name of any friends you want to be with. We will try to put you with your friends.
While at camp, campers will have the chance to participate in activities that are directed by an adult counselor such as activities, crafts, recreation, camp cooking, boating and other outdoor activities.
