Volunteer Application
Welcome!!
The Hendricks County Extension staff is pleased that you’re interested in learning more about the youth development program of the Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service. We understand that you are considering a volunteer role in the 4-H Youth Development program and would like to briefly explain our process and procedure.
Purdue Cooperative Extension Service has a volunteer management system which includes 4-H 783 "Information and Instruction for Faculty, Extension Educators, Staff, and Volunteers Who Work with 4-H Youth Development Programs in Indiana" that will give you some background information on our program and philosophy. You must then complete 4-H 784 "4-H Volunteer Application Form" and 4-H 785 "4-H Adult Behavioral Expectations."
The purpose of this process is to help you know more about youth programs and to help us know more about you. Knowledge about your interests, skills and background will help program leaders make a better match between your volunteer interests and the needs of youth. It is a necessary process for providing protection for youth and volunteers associated with the Extension program.
After your completed application (4-H 784), Adult Behavioral Expectations
and a copy of a government-issued photo ID arrives in the county Extension office, your references will be contacted and your name cleared through the National and State Sex and Violent Offender Registries.
Competent, caring adults are an important part of the youth development process and 4-H Youth Development volunteers are role models for youth who participate in our programs. When all information is received and completed you will be informed regarding the status of your application.
Working with youth can bring you immense satisfaction as you help them grow and develop. You can gain new skills and new friends through youth programs as you participate in local, county, state and even regional/national events and workshops.
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer.
