2013 4-H Royalty Contest Information 

 

4-H ROYALTY CONTEST (pg. 131 of fair book)

 

1.Each contestant must be a current 4-H member.

2.Boys and girls who have participated in the 4-H Royalty contest previously and NOT selected.

3.Participants must be at least 16 years old by August 17, 2013.

4.The Huntington County 4-H Royalty Contest Score Card will be used in judging the contest. Criteria will include:  4-H record, 3 minute speech, personal interview, impromptu question, business and formal wear, poise.

5.Entries must be received in the Huntington County Extension Office by end of office hours on May 15, 2013.

6.For the Indiana State Fair Queen Pageant, the highest placing female, who meets the state fair requirements, will be eligible to represent Huntington County at the state fair. 

 

There is a new state fair rule regarding the age requirement of participants in the State Fair Queen contest.

 

  The maximum age for contestants has not changed and continues to be 20-year-old as of   August 16, 2013, the first day of the 2013 Indiana State Fair Queen Pageant.  However,   NEW for 2013 – Each contestant must be at least 18 years of age as of June 1,   2014.  The minimum age requirement of contestants has been raised, and unfortunately,   those who are 16-years-old will no longer be eligible to participate in the Indiana State Fair   Queen Pageant.  Those who are 17 years of age at the time of the 2013 Queen Pageant   (August 16-18) can participate, provided they will be 18-years-old before or on June 1,   2014.
