Goat & Sheep Webinar

  • Goat, sheep webinars to educate farmers on nutrition, and health.
  •  
  • Purdue Extension will present two webinars to educate goat and sheep farmers on feeding practices, managing forages, and keeping sheep and goats healthy. The webinars will run 7-9 p.m. (EST) on December 3 and December 10 at Huntington Count Extension Office.

  • The December 3 webinar will cover:
  • ·         What kind of hay for goats and sheep?
  •              Terry Hutchens, Goat Specialist University of Kentucky, retired
  • ·         Best pasture plant species for goats and sheep.
  •            Greg Brann, Tennessee NRCS Grazing Lands and Soil Health Specialist

  •  The December 10 webinar will cover:
  • ·         Keeping sheep and goats healthy.
  •              Patty Scharko, D.V.M. Clemson University
  • ·         Selecting sheep and goats for resistance to internal parasites.
  •             David Notter, Emeritus Professor, Virginia Tech University
