None at this time.

New Business:

- Board member candidates for the 2013-2015 term: They are still pursuing possible candidates. Sharon and Mervin agreed to run again for a second term. Let John know if you have the name of any potential candidates.
He will write them a letter of invitation to be placed on the ballot.

- Annual meeting update: Working on it. Date is Thursday Feb. 28, 2013. We will have a speaker from Purdue. Mitch Daniels, incoming Purdue President. Steve Cain is the back-up if Mitch cannot speak. Mr. Cain is the Extension Disaster Education specialist and is a good speaker. The meeting will be either at the fairgrounds (Mr. Daniels) or Woodruff Grove (Mr. Cain).

Brief Educator Reports:

Steve: Next week is the Ft. Wayne farm show. Seminar session set up again. Next big event is the Small Farm Conference. Hope to have 200 in attendance, with $150 in registration fees. Steve will advertise the State Farm Conference at the Farm show as well. Is considering bidding on the National Small Farm Conference in Ft. Wayne. Steve applied for and was selected for the National Extension Leadership Development program. 3 from Indiana were selected out of a total of 40. P-Caret group is a big push in the legislature. Food hubs are starting up in Indiana, right now one in Central Indiana and one around Terre Haute. Remember that small farmers should not criticize large farmers.

John: Thanked for having all those that completed the surveys on the programs. Out of it came a need for advisory committees for all of the program areas. Asked if could think of 7 in each of the 4 program areas. Crystal asked if John could email us to remind us. He spent 2 days at State County Extension Directors Conference. John said he learned how much he appreciates his board and our county in comparison to other counties. In November he went to State 4-H Congress along with Marissa and other teens and adult volunteers. John heard good ideas plans statewide to help address issues such as hunger statewide. John thanked Joyce Weber for her volunteer work with middle school after school science projects.

Announcements:

Ryan Young was the recipient of the Monsanto awards. The monies went to the 4-H Fair Grounds and the Kids Club through his church.
