The Purdue Master Gardeners are a group of volunteers that "Help Others Grow" in their community. They help at local parks and are available during the Lake County Fair for those that have questions. For more information about the Lake County Master Gardener Program, see this brochure.
2014 Master Gardener Class
There will be a Master Gardener Class starting January 27 for all interested gardeners. The sessions will be held at the Lake County Extension Office in Crown Point. There will be the opportunity to attend an afternoon class from 1-4pm or an evening class from 5:45-8:45PM. You can download a copy of the application here . Help Line for Horticulture
The Master Gardeners work a Help Line between May to September at the Extension Office for questions from homeowners. The questions may range from what is wrong with my lawn to vegetables to trees. They can also identify plants and insects or their damage. You may call 219-755-3240 or send an email.
