Drug-Free Workplace

The Drug-Free Workplace Coalition advocates for safe and healthy work environments and provides practical tools and resources to help businesses, profit and non-profit, implement best practices. Reducing substance abuse related expenses and unhealthy behavior makes a community more viable for business and makes a workforce more productive and proactive. We encourage employees, leaders and businesses to reflect on the value that safe and healthy workplaces bring to the overall community.  Looking for information to use for your organization’s 2010 Drug-Free Work Week recognition? The coalition is pleased to offer the following free and accessible resources.

Online Toolkit Available for 2011 Drug Free Work Week Recognition  (October 17-23)

The Drug-Free Workplace Coalition has posted a free and easily accessible Toolkit at the LaPorte County, Purdue Extension website which is http://www.ag.purdue.edu/counties/laporte/pages/default.aspx

The Toolkit features:

·         Posters/fact sheets for supervisors & employees

·         Information for business owners & HR professionals

·         Lunch & learn PowerPoint presentations that can be delivered by a company designee or a coalition member.

All materials were developed by the Department of Labor, SAMHSA, The LaPorte County Drug Free Partnership and the Indiana Quitline. The Quitline helps businesses that would like to impact their insurance costs by linking employees to cessation resources.
