Arsenal Technical High School 4-H Leaders of Tomorrow Program
Tech Leaders of Tomorrow is a series of eight workshops focused on increasing teen leadership skills. The program is offered to 30 Arsenal Technical High School students. The workshops will give the participants the opportunity to reflect on their present leadership skills, learn new ones and they will be given the opportunity to use them in both the classroom and community settings.
Purdue Extension-Marion County, as part of their partnership with the Chase Legacy Center/Youth Education Town (YET), began offering 4-H programming in Spring 2012. Discussions with Josh Bowling, YET Program Coordinator and William Gadd, Arsenal Technical High School Social Studies Facilitator and Student Council/Students in Action Sponsor revealed the need for a teen leadership program at the school. An eight week program, using the curriculum Leadership in Action as its basis was developed to meet this need. For long term program sustainability adult volunteers were recruited to co-facilitate the program.
