New Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2010, USDA and HHS, focus on consuming fewer calories, making informed food choices, and being physically active in order to attain and maintain a healthy weight, reduce the risk of chronic disease, and promote overall health. These eating and physical activity patterns apply to all Americans ages 2 years and older, including those at increased risk for chronic disease.

Focus on these two concepts:

©      Maintain calorie balance over time to achieve and sustain a healthy weight.

©      Focus on consuming nutrient-dense foods and beverages.
