Clay - Owen Master Gardeners

 This is one of the Master Gardener Interns using a trombone sprayer the presenter had brought to class.

This site is to provide information for the participatants of the Clay-Owen Master Gardener Program.  The Purdue Master Gardener program is a twelve week course that covers a variety of topics including: Plant Science, Soil Science, Weed Identification, Vegetables, Home Lawns, and Pesticide Safety.  There is a fee that is associated with this course that helps cover handouts, guest speakers, course materials, the Master Gardener Binder, refreshments, and other items that is needed to help the course run smoothly.

Class Orientation Information - This powerpoint was provided to the Master Gardeners to allow them to gain knowledge about the Purdue Master Gardener Program.

Plant Science & Nutrition - This powerpoint was presented to allow the Master Gardeners a refresher course on how plants are built and what their basic needs include.

Lawn Weed Management - This powerpoint discusses some of common weeds that we find in Indiana turfs.

Handout on Lawn Weed Management - This handout was given out to Master Gardener participants about different aspects of an Intergrated Pest Management Plan when dealing with lawn weeds.

Handout on Turf Management - This handout on turf resources was given out to Master Gardener participants.

Completion Night - The final night of the course, the Master Gardener Interns were provided with information on how to obtain volunteer hours and how to record their volunteer hours online through Purdue University.
