Porter County 4-H Handbook
Revised December 2012
The Porter County 4-H Handbook is your ultimate source for information on 4-H projects and fair exhibits.
How can the 4-H Handbook help you succeed in your project work? This handbook contains exhibit requirements for all 4-H projects. Did you know that county fair exhibits that do not meet the exhibit requirements listed in this handbook will be lowered one letter grade?
What changes have there been for this year? There have been numerous changes and clarifications on guidelines, requirements, and rules in this edition. You are encouraged to thoroughly read and understand the information as listed in this edition of the handbook. Please encourage others to use this edition of the handbook.
Does the handbook contain information other than just project rules and exhibit guidelines? YES! The first several pages of the handbook are filled with general information that all 4-H families should be aware of. Please read all these pages thoroughly, as information in the "General Terms and Conditions" and "Livestock Terms and Conditions" can also play a role in your success when your fair exhibit is judged. Did you know that if an exhibitor does not adhere to the "Poster Policy", their exhibit will be lowered one letter grade? (This includes poster dimensions, stiff backing, plastic covering, and leaving space for the exhibit tag.)
