Projects due on Wednesday, July 17th
4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
The rocket launch will be Friday evening after the parade at the fairgrounds.
State Fair exhibits:
Each county is permitted to send 1 rocket and 1 poster/display in each manual level (3 total). Each county can send a maximum of six exhibits to the state fair, 3 rockets and 3 posters/display boards.
State fair Project Interacts may be given in this project.
1. Comply with all the requirements listed at the beginning of this “4-H Exhibit Hall Project” section, the “Putnam County 4-H Fair Rules” section, and “Indiana and Putnam County 4-H Policy/ Terms” section.
2. No rocket igniters.
3. No "Ready to Fly" or E2X rockets are acceptable in the 4-H Aerospace project.
4. Complete the activities as indicated in the manual.
Beginners – Stage 2 (Grades 3-5)
Exhibit a rocket of choice. Estes Skill level 1, 2, 3 or 1 of comparable difficulty.
Exhibit a poster, display board on any topic in the manual (i.e., construct a paper airplane with a poster board explaining why it was designed as shown)
Intermediate – Stage 3 (Grades 6-8)
Exhibit a rocket or other aerodynamic object (Estes Skills Level 2, 3 or 4 or comparable difficulty).
Exhibit a poster, display board on any topic in the manual (i.e., glider plane - page 18 - with poster explaining design).
Advanced – Stage 4 (Grades 9 & up)
Exhibit a rocket, box kite or other aerodynamic object of your choice which illustrates principles of flight. Note: Rockets must be a skill level 2 or higher.
Exhibit a poster, display board on any topic in the manual (i.e. box kite – page 20) with poster explanation.
