Beginners (Grades 3-5)
Make and exhibit a simple basket of any size, with or without a handle, using flat reed and/or flat oval reed and the over under technique of weaving for the base and side. The project may be left natural or stained with a simple stain (example – natural walnut stain) or members may use reeds of no more than two additional colors.
Basket examples: napkin, square fruit, berry, bread, apple, any simple basket with either a square or rectangle base.
Intermediate (Grades 6-8)
Make and exhibit a more complicated project using new method listed in the project handout or cane and exhibit a splint woven chair.
Advanced (Grades 9 & up)
Exhibit any article ready for use, using your developed skills which show more difficult types of weaving, decorating or
