4-H Performing Arts
Formerly Known as Share-the-Fun
Performing Arts offers 4-Hers the opportunity to express creativity and have a lot of fun! One may perform individually or as a group to have additional opportunity to develop team building and other interpersonal skills.
There are three options for Acts to choose from when registering. A limit of one act from each from county exists for area competition. The Area competition is Friday, May 3 at Cloverdale Middle School.
1. Group Acts consisting of 5 or more performers with a time limit of 5-8 minutes. Examples include skits, sketches, choral number, dance routine, lip sync.
2. Curtain Act Non-musical consist of 1-4 performers with a time limit of 3-5 minutes. Examples include skits, sketches, magic, clowning, rhythmic gymnastics, reading, 4-H cheerleading, routines, choral speaking reading, dance (ballet, tap modern, etc.) lip sync, juggling, acrobatic feats, ballads, and puppetry.
3. Curtain Act Musical consist of 1-4 performers with a time limit of 3-5 minutes. Examples include instrumental (keyboard, guitar, flute, drums, etc.), vocal, bands (rock, country, jazz, southern gospel, R&B, etc.)
When necessary a county contest occurs to determine area participants. Winners at Area V competition advance to 4-H Roundup or Indiana State Fair.
