Food and Health 

    Purdue Extension - Warren County can assist you in several areas.  Food and Health programming can be provided to your clubs, groups or individuals.  Please call 762-3231 for availability.  Jean Akers Extension Educator or Layna Cottingham Family Nutrition Program Assistant or email Jean akersj@purdue.edu  Layna  lscottin@purdue.edu

     Dining with Diabetes
    When diagnosed with diabetes, it can be very confusing to know how to change your eating and cooking habits. Dining with Diabetes can help you understand how your body uses the food you eat and how to cook healthier and more creatively. Registered dieticians will teach each of the classes and food samples will be prepared for you to try during each of the two hour sessions. Class dates TBA.  All classes will be held at the Warren County Learning Center. 
    Cost $25.00 for one, $45.00 a couple.

    A Matter of Balance
    A class designed for to increase the confidence, mobility and strength of the participants to keep being active as aging occurs. The classes consist of light exercise, discussion and possible solutions to situations that occur to prevent inactivity.
    Cost: $5.

    Class dates and times:
    TBA, Monday and Wednesday, 10 – noon, Classes meet twice a week for two hour sessions.  Classes meet at the Warren County Learning Center, Please call and reserve your spot. 764-1880. 

    Raising Healthy Eaters
    Join other local parents of 2-5 year olds for a series of hands-on activities, cooking and discussions to help you in Raising Healthy Eaters. Classes on request, Please contact Jean Akers 762-3231 or akersj@purdue.edu. Class is free.
