Water Riches

Warren County fifth grade students learn about water, why it is important to us and why we should do everything we can to protect it. Earth is the water planet but how much of it is available to use? They learn about water above the ground as well as what is found below the ground in aquifers. Students do experiments to see the relationship between soil particle size and the percolation rate to see how this can have an impact on pollution of our water supplies. They learn that it is everyone’s responsibility to protect and conserve our water supply.

Space Station Indiana

Space Station Indiana is a science enrichment program to try to get second and third grade students excited about science and see that it can be fun and educational. Sherry Sarkkinen organizes, plans, and presents lesson concepts with a variety of teaching aides. Sherry also adapts games to assist students with learning and retention in a fun way.
