Currently available programs:

Family Nutrition Program (FNP): This is a nutrition education program for limited-resource audiences.  Mary, our FNP Program Assistant, delivers nutrition education to groups and individuals to bring about lifestyle changes.  The goal of this program is to help people with limited resources develop the knowledge and skills to use their food dollars and stamps wisely.  This program operates with Indiana Family and Social Services Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

If you have questions about this program or want to sign up, please call Mary at the Washington County Extension Office at (812) 883-4601.

Dining with Diabetes: A diabetes diagnoses does not have to limit you to foods you don't enjoy!  Join the Dining with Diabetes class starting October 6th from 6-8 PM at the Purdue Extension Washington County Office and learn more about nutrition for people with diabetes and sample new recipes.  Every class will include a taste test of foods that are delicious and healthy.  To register for the class, please call the Extension office at (812) 883-4601.  The cost is $30 for an individual or $40 for a couple and includes a workbook and all snacks.

Check back often for more programs!  If you have suggestions for nutrition, food, or health programs that you’d like to see offered in Washington County, contact Lauren Neuenschwander at (812) 883-4601.
