You have heard a lot more about gluten over the last five years and more people have learned that they need to avoid it. Gluten is a protein found in foods made from wheat, barley, and rye. More consumers need to learn what the purpose of gluten is in food preparation, baking, in our diets, and what a gluten-free diet is.
To learn about gluten you are invited to attend a free program offered by the Purdue Extension Elkhart County office and Extension Homemakers on April 21, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Participants must pre-register so the office can be sure to have enough materials available. To register call the Extension Office at 574-533-0554 or email Brandy Cavanagh at email@example.com
. The program will be presented by Stephanie Polei, a Registered Dietitian and Purdue Extension Educator in Elkhart County. The Extension office is located inside Gate 2 on the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds at 17746 County Road 34, Goshen.
