The Indiana Forest and Woodlands Owner's Association was formed with the goal of promoting good stewardship of Indiana woodlands. Good stewardship encompasses quality management practices that encompass the many parts that make up the woodland environment. These include knowledge of the environmental factors of soil type and watershed as well as an understanding of wildlife habitat and the interrelationships of fauna and flora. Participation by the woodland owners of Indiana is
germane to that goal.
By participating in IFWOA the latest information affecting Indiana woodlands is available to you through a variety of media ranging from an up-to-date website with links to various agencies and databases, informative workshops throughout the state and an annual meeting that brings it all together in a series of workshops, discussions and networking opportunities.
IFWOA works on many levels from hands-on opportunities in the woods to participating in the legislative processes that are of concern to woodland owners. All woodland owners are encouraged to be part of IFWOA. From the large acreage owners to the family woodlot, no size limit exists. The members of IFWOA are interested in providing assistance to all woodland owners.
If you are not a current member of IFWOA I would encourage you to join today and avail yourself of the wonderful opportunities that come with membership. If you are already a member of this fine organization I salute you for your foresight and stewardship of Indiana woodlands, some of the finest woodlands in the world.
